Last night, while chatting with my roommate, I had a craving for a waffle-shaped something. I’d always wanted to try cinnamon rolls..SO I DID.
I used a really simple and quick no-yeast recipe for the dough! The filling was also really easy! I didn’t have powdered sugar to make any sort of fancy glaze, though (although that may have take away from the wafflyness of the whole thing)…
1 1/3 c Flour
1 1/3 tbsp Sugar
2 2/3 tsp Baking Powder
2/3 tsp Salt
2 tbsp Butter
1/2 c Milk
2 2/3 tbsp Softened Butter
2/3 c Brown or White Sugar
2 tsp Cinnamon
*Note – this recipe makes 12ish little waffle cinnamon rolls!
Mix dry ingredients, cut in butter, add milk. Mix!
In separate bowl: Mix butter, sugar, and cinnamon until everything is mixed evenly
So, yeah! Dough all doughy, rolled out to 1/4 inch, spread filling, rolllllll up, and cut into pieces!
Then, each piece gets waffled for around 30-40 seconds!
The filling looked like it leaked out a bit onto the waffle iron and the cinnamon rolls lost a bit of their swirly look after being waffled, but the overall result was still pretty satisfying 🙂
