Waffle Beer Bread

Waffle Honey Wheat Beer Bread

In keeping with the New Years Resolution thing, I’ve been on the lookout for potential wafflable items. I happened upon a recipe for beer bread at the same time that my roommate and I had just opened a bottle! Luckily, neither of us really enjoyed that particular beer, and I decided to use the remainder to experiment with some waffle beer bread! It actually turned out quite well, considering I may have added a considerable amount of extra beer by accident XD.

Honey Wheat Beer Bread [Adapted from Gimme Some Oven]
Yield: Equivalent of one 9x5x3 loaf of bread

2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1 tbsp. Sugar
1/2 tbsp. Baking Powder
1/2 tsp. Salt
2 tbsp. Honey
12 oz. Beer (your choice!)
4 tbsp. butter, melted

1) Mix everything in a bowl! Dry ingredients first, then the rest! It might help to heat up the honey first to make it easier to stir into the batter.

2) Plop some in the waffle iron and close the lid! Takes about 30 seconds for my particular iron. Note that it will rise A LOT, so put as thin of a layer on the iron as you can!

3) Remove, smear some buttery goodness on there, and eat!
